The Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Rev. Abraham James Sesay-Jones commissioned the Leone meat and processing company on Tuesday 5th June 2018 at the National Workshop Complex Cline Town Freetown. Delivering his speech at the ceremony the Deputy Minister expressed his delight at commissioning the factory as it falls in line with the Government’s New Direction Policy of promoting value addition and enhancing the local content policy. He further reiterated his ministry’s support in providing the enabling a friendly business environment for investors to operate in the country.
The AMDH Leone Meat Processing Company is one of the many investment projects facilitated by SLIEPA with an estimated investment value of $ 1.6 Million and currently employs fifteen (15) Sierra Leoneans directly, two hundred (200) indirectly as sales agents and two (2) expatriates.
The Deputy Minister after inaugurating and cutting the tape was led on a conducted tour of the company’s facilities with other invited guests. Mr Artan Stroka, the Sierra Leone’s Consul in Albania welcomed the guests and Mr Tommy Sam shareholder and indigenous Partner of the company expressed his company’s commitment to providing quality products for the market with future plans of producing milk, cheese and yoghurt.
