The Ghanaian High Commissioner to Sierra Leone His Excellency Francis Abakah paid a courtesy visit at the Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SLIEPA) on Tuesday 12th June 2018 and held discussions with a cross section of the management team of SLIEPA. He was accompanied by the Chief Director in the Ministry of Trade and Industry Mr Charles Mereweather-Thompson.
Welcoming the High Commissioner at SLIEPA, the Chief Executive Officer of SLIEPA Mr Dylan Sogie- Thomas gave a brief background and mandate of the Agency which are but not limited to investment promotion, export development policy advocacy and aftercare services to investors and exporters. Mr Sogie- Thomas expressed the agency’s preparedness and willingness to facilitate investments from Ghana and also provide aftercare services to existing Ghanaian businesses and investors operating in the country.
In his statement High Commissioner Abakah expressed delight at visiting SLIEPA and spoke of his desire to deepen the bilateral relations between Ghana and Sierra Leone in the field of trade and investment and emphasised the need to increase the volume of trade between the two countries.
