A Belgian Construction Company, LIXON, has today 30th August, 2019 established a collaborative relationship with the Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SLIEPA) in a meeting held at the Agency’s Headquarter at Tower Hill, Freetown.
Speaking during the meeting, Mr. Renuaud d’ Argembeau, the Administrator of LIXON who doubles as the Team Leader, said that they are establishing a long term relationship with SLIEPA to help improve investment, create values and exports from Sierra Leone to the Belgian Market and the rest of the world; noting that their establishment in Sierra Leone informs Belgian investors of the Country’s numerous attractive investment opportunities and as well eases communication with them. He said, their operation covers both Sierra Leone and the Republic Guinea.
The Acting Director of Marketing and Communications, Mr. Francis Minah, on behalf of the CEO of SLIEPA, Mr. Sheku Lexmond Koroma, welcomed and thanked the visitors for their interest in Sierra Leone. He further highlighted the establishment and mandate of SLIEPA being the investment and export promotion Agency of Sierra Leone.
Also, Heads and representatives of different departments at SLIEPA underlined their departmental duties to the goal of the Agency and the Country.
Mr. Victor Bangura presented the investment opportunities the Country is endowed with and how infrastructure will add value to the different priority sectors; Mrs. Sally Sulaiman Gassama, Manager of Aftercare and Event Management also explained the role of Aftercare in retaining existing investors, creating the enabling environment for a Public- Private- Dialogue and liaising with the investors for a close relationship thereby understanding their challenges and progress; while Mr. Jackson Kamara, Export Officer, expressed the Government’s desire for diversification of the economy from traditional export commodities to emerging export products.
However, the two parties agreed on further engagements.
