OSSIX TECHNOLOGY and Global Financial Solutions (GFS) have from 15th – 17th October 2019, engaged various Ministries, Departments and Agencies including, the Office of the Vice President, the banking community, Sierra Leone Housing Corporation (SALHOC) and the Directorate of Science and technology Innovation (DSTI) on Investment mission in the Finance and Infrastructure sectors in Sierra Leone.
The Sierra Leone Investment and export promotion agency (SLIEPA) serving as an effort towards its mandate facilitated the said trade mission.
In a power point presentation, the President and CEO of OSSIX Technology, Dr. Alberto G. Olympio, explained that they visited Sierra Leone to show case their services that could address the needs of the Sierra Leone Government and private businesses in Financial Transactions Monitoring, Public Revenue Optimization and National Switch.
He said if their product is obtained, the government can directly levy taxes more accurately, it increases the banking system in the country and the sub-region by transforming telephone numbers into a bank account, it increases tax base, it integrates banking-telephony solution, does Clearing house for economic operators and banks, it provides unique institutional platform to develop new services with high added value, it improves the calculation and collection of government taxes and other fees, it creates financial Inclusion, Payments and Money Transfer.
OSSIX TECHNOLOGIES, LLC is a company duly organized and existing under the laws of the State of Delaware. It is developing its operation globally and currently has a Research and Development (R&D) center in Dakar, Senegal and Douala, Cameroon.
The Global Financial Solutions (GFS) also expressed interest in investing in housing. It offers a full range of construction services and investment management. GFS builts a wide range of projects from residential to commercial in various sizes and managed client investment in diversified areas.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SLIEPA), Mr. Sheku Lexmond Koroma, appreciated the visitors for coming as SLIEPA had been in a constant communication with them in order to facilitate their mission. He said that their services as displayed by Dr. Olympio are desirable for developmental transformation, but SLIEPA, as an investment agency, he noted, demands further due diligence to better understand the worth of their investment, sources of their finance, testimonial etc.
He committed the support of SLIEPA to their course in Sierra Leone; saying that the Country needs more investment to improve the life and capacity of its people therefore complementing the goal of the New Direction Government led by the President, Retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio.
During the meeting, stakeholders from different MDAs were impressed by the packages presented which inspired the companies in collaboration with SLIEPA to embarked on follow up meetings with interest groups to plotheran the next step.
