On the 5th June, 2019, the Sierra Leone Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, the kingdom of Netherlands, France, Greece, Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg and the European Union (EU), HE Samuel Samba Musa, paid a courtesy call on the Sierra Leone Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SLIEPA).
In his statement, Ambassador Musa said, the purpose of his visit was to establish collaborative relationship with SLIEPA being that his Embassy is set to embark on trade and investment missions that will encourage investors and financiers to invest in Sierra Leone. He noted his effort as a way of consolidating trade promotion in the country for which he relies on partnering with SLIEPA to make the objective workable through its technical contribution including the provision of more investment promotional materials for potential investors.
In a welcoming statement, the SLIEPA Acting Director of Marketing and Communications, Mr. Francis Minah, said the Ambassador’s drive to promote investment is a welcoming one by SLIEPA. He on behalf of the CEO and Management committed the Agency to working with Ambassador Musa in a way to augment investment for economic development and social growth. He said, SLIEPA is the legal Agency established by Parliament to promote investment and export. He further noted that the services provided by SLIEPA is free of cost.
Mr. Minah also briefed the Ambassador on sectoral brochures and An Investor’s Guide – A Private Sector Perspective on the Investment Landscape developed by Herbert Smith Freehills in partnership with SLIEPA to be launched at the Sierra Leone Trade and Investment Conference in London on the 6th of June 2019.
Ambassador Musa was as well updated on Investors’ Aftercare Unit created in SLIEPA and the emerging investment opportunities and government’s priority areas.
