With support from the International Trade Centre (ITC) based in Geneva, the Sierra Leone Investment and Export promotion Agency (SLIEPA) is honored to facilitate and host the 6th MOPSE workshop from the 24th – 26th September 2019 at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Freetown.
MOPSE is a capacity-building project by ITC that is designed to strengthen the operational management of export promotion programs for twenty one (21) selected national Trade Promotion Offices (TPO) in Sub-Sahara African Countries.
“The ITC is passionate to host their workshop in Sierra Leone. This Might be due to the good and respectful leadership of H.E President Bio; his practices and promotion of corrupt free leadership,” said a diplomat during a meeting with SLIEPA.
“This selfless motive has also perfectly placed Sierra Leone as an investment destination and this is admirable, he further stated.
The following are the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) the workshop will look at in order to measure the relevance of the MOPSE Program and its real impact on the performance improvement for the twenty one beneficiary TPOs:
Progress made in the implementation of the Leadership Action Plan
- Elaboration of the TPO Strategy consistent to the mission of the Organization and qualified objectives (KPI)
- Quality of the implementation of the pilot export promotion action and active follow-up by each parties involved, through the actions’ result measurement
- Finally, the capacity of each TPO to elaborate and formally validate before end 2019 by all stakeholders (Government, Board of Directors, ETC.) the 2020 export promotion plan under the form of objectives’ contract or equivalent On the invitation of ITC, SLIEPA has attended four MOPSE workshops held in Freetown, Tanzania and Uganda where the agency presented its draft of MPOSE strategy for a review and final approval by ITC for implementation in 2019.
In fulfilment of SLIEPA’s participation in the MPOSE program, the agency has completed and submitted four draft documents to ITC for review and adoption.
